FJ Cruiser in Oman

Toyota dealer in Oman has just officially launched the new 4x4 car from Toyota; FJ Cruiser. Yes, I know that some of you already noticed a couple of FJ Cruisers cruising in town since a long time ago, October '06 I guess, but nobody from those got it from the dealer here in Oman. They all imported it from USA and other countries. Also, you could import it through the dealer but that would cost you a fortune, so people preferred importing them themselves. One of my friends imported a yellow one from USA sometime ago. (picture above)

I'm not sure how much does it cost, but as far as I know, if you wanted to import it from USA through Toyota dealer in Oman, that would cost you 16,000 OMR. My friend however imported one himself directly from the US and told me that it cost him only 11,000 OMR including all taxes and shipping fees. It comes with one engine which is a V6 4.0 liters.

I knew about the launch of the FJ Cruiser through today's issue of Al-Watan newspaper. I even took a picture of the article and you can view it [here]. If you want to know more about the car [click here].

I find it appealing even though it looks odd compared to its rivals, the Jeep Wrangler. It has much more to offer than the Jeep. Add to that, it has comfort and a touch of luxury. If you’re into trips, fascinated by nature and you cherish the feeling behind a 4x4 drive then this is the ride to be.

Yahya: Thanks for passing by!

From duba4x4.com I realized that the FJ Cruiser is still not officially launched by Toyota's dealer in UAE, is that right? I thought it's already there in UAE...
