I swear he did!
It was an automated/recorded call, though. So it was all done randomly.
In the afternoon while having my lunch, I received a call from a strange number and as soon as I picked the phone up, the caller immediately said something like this: "Hi. This is Barack Obama. I am calling to tell you that the Texas primary voting is starting today and I need your vote. I am the Presidential candidate most likely to bring about change. etc.. etc.." And at the end he left a toll free number to call back if I had any questions. I didn't hang up, but I turned the speaker on to let my friends hear the conversation. Then after the conversation was over, one of my friends said that his friend told him that Barack Obama called him as well but he didn't believe it. I then asked someone if this was against the election laws, and he told me that it is not, but it is usually done on landlines and I am the first one he knows of who got this call on his cellphone.
This was definitely done randomly because I'm not even a US citizen to participate in the voting. It's cool though having Barack Obama calling you on your own cellphone ;) .. Asking for your vote ;)
Others said that Obama's wife was leaving similar automated messages on home phones for people to vote for Obama. And some people also got similar calls from Clinton. Seems common, but I got surprised at the beginning.
